About the Data Gateway

The Data Gateway is an initiative of the Institute on Immigrant Integration Research & Policy which provides up to date information on the state of immigrant integration in New York State from an individual and system level perspectives

Data on economic integration compares economic outcomes of foreign-born and native born to assess the role that forces of nativity status, race, gender and their intersections influence these outcomes. This information deepens understanding of the specific needs foreign born New Yorkers have in each region of the state and illuminates the context which produces disparities. Such knowledge informs interventions at the practice and policy levels that close the disparity gaps.

 

While economic indicators rely on American Community Survey data, Indicators of social integration will gathered through  primary data collection using poll studies.
